This bat is a reproduction of the first giant bat on record -- the one that was presented to the Cincinnati Red Stockings upon their return from a triumphant, undefeated tour of the U.S. in 1869. There is no record of the location of that bat.

This replica bat was commissioned by the Reds for the museum in their ballpark. reds.enquirer.com
